Carlton Jones Bird, age 70, passed away at his home on January 16, 2026.
Carlton was born to Mark Jones Bird and Linda Jane Berry. He spent much of his life in Auburn, Washington, where he attended and graduated from Auburn High School, and later lived in Hamer, Idaho.
He married Jacqueline Ricks Bird, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and service.
Carlton worked for Connect Air International, where he was involved in the manufacturing of computer cabling. He was known for his strong work ethic and technical skill.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carlton faithfully served in many callings, most recently as a nursery leader. His faith guided his life and his service to others.
Carlton had a gift for tinkering and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed collecting items, solving problems, and was always willing to help others whenever he could.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline Bird; his children: Benjamin Bird, of Lewisville, Idaho, Nicholas (Robyn) Bird, of Rigby, Idaho, Emily (Josh) Udd, of Auburn, Washington, and Heidi (DJ) Lambert, of Rexburg, Idaho. He is also survived by his mother, Linda Jane Berry, of Salt Lake City, Utah; his sister, Lisa Bird, of Mendon, Utah; and his brothers, David Bird, of West Jordan, Utah, and Norman (Charlotte) Bird, of Utah. He also is survived by five grandchildren.
Carlton was preceded in death by his father, Mark Jones Bird.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Rexburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
