Carol Ann Boyce, 71, of Rigby, passed away unexpectedly in the hospital at Idaho Falls, surrounded by her family, Wednesday, April 2, 2008. She was born September 2, 1936, at Clark, Idaho, a daughter of Blaine Hamilton Fillmore and Ellen Elizabeth Parks Fillmore. She attended schools in the Rigby area and graduated from Rigby High School. November 19, 1954, she married Dean Boyce in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Carol was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many auxiliaries including Primary, Relief Society, Ricks College Relief Society, Ward Activity Leader, and Ward Choir. She was also a member of Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, The Club, Rexburg Study Guild, and the PTA; she was active in politics and a life long student. She loved music, singing, garage sales, spending time with her grandchildren, and gardening; especially flowers. Carol was very giving, generous, and was always loving and caring for other people; she lived to see her children have success, she was a hard worker and faced life’s challenges.
She is survived by her husband Dean Boyce, of Menan, a daughter, SherRee Carol (Rodney) Jack of Ucon, Sons, David Dean (Cayla) Boyce of Grant, Gary Blaine Boyce of Menan, Tyler Daran Boyce of Centerville, UT, Laren Reed (Mackenzie) Boyce of Eagle Mountain, UT, sisters, Glora Gay (Verle) Call of Seattle, WA, Linda Ellen (John) Crane of Rigby, eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Bonnie LaDean Boyce Ward, and a sister, Lois Jane Beckstead.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2008, at the Menan First Ward Building. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, at the church. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
