Carol Ida Scott Johnson, 79, of Rigby, died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at her home; after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born December 24, 1933, in Annis, Idaho to Albert Josiah Scott and Ida Belle Hanson Scott. She was raised in Annis, and attended Midway and Rigby High School. On December 7, 1950, she married Harold Glen Johnson. They later divorced. She worked for Roger Brothers and for Idaho Fresh Pak for 24 years.
Carol was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in many capacities, and enjoyed serving in the temple. She also enjoyed crocheting, yard work, and genealogy.
She is survived by her daughters, Luena (Wayne) Dunn, of Rigby, Debra Garrett, of Minnesota, Jerry (Walter) Lethin, of Austin, TX, Tina (Bryce) Slavik, of Meridian, son, Jarvis John Johnson, of Idaho Falls, 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Carroll Johnson, Emma Elizabeth Johnson, her parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Rigby South Stake Center with Bishop George Olaveson, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
