Carol Mickels

May 23, 1952 — April 20, 2023

Carol Anderson-Mickels, of Rigby, ID, passed away, peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, April 20 th , 2023.

Carol’s parents were Lynn and Frances Anderson from Lewisville, ID. She grew up on a family farm in Lewisville where she and her siblings learned a strong work ethic and a love for their community. She graduated with honors from Rigby High School in 1970, where she had participated in band and FHA activities, making lifetime friends with many of her classmates.

Carol worked in the service and medical industries equally throughout her life. She loved to be useful and was always a top runner. She was good at whatever she did. She managed cafes and truck stops, served as a home health CNA, worked her way up to an endoscopy technician, and finally retired as a cafeteria lady in her hometown. Carol was also a devoted volunteer and board member for the Senior Citizen Center in Rigby. Their annual fundraiser, Hot Classic Nights, was something she looked forward to every summer.

Carol had two children who she absolutely adored and loved to show off to whoever would let her, Brandt Mickels (Michelle) of Lewisville, ID, and Jamie Grebb (Justin) of Rigby, ID. She also had two grandchildren, Damon, and Darrell, who she spent countless hours singing to, reading to, and helping them grow and learn any way that she could. Carol’s family meant everything to her.

Carol is survived by her children (names above,) her sister Kathy Anderson, of Lewisville, ID, and her brother Carl Anderson (Jeanette) of Rigby, ID. She is preceded in death by her parents, twin baby sisters, and her brother, Kevin Anderson (Gayle Anderson – still living.)

A celebration of life for Carol will be held at a later date. Interment of her remains will be in the Pioneer Cemetery in Rigby, ID.
