Carol Wright Toomer

Carol Wright Toomer, 80, of Rigby, Idaho, died May 15, 2017 in Idaho Falls. Carol Wright Toomer was born the 8th child of 11 children to Charles Melvin Wright and Hilda Victoria Erickson Wright on February 7, 1937, at Rigby, Idaho.  She was raised in Lewisville and attended schools in Rigby.  Carol married her high school sweetheart, Larry J. Toomer, June 11, 1954.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple March of 1956. Larry and Carol made their home in Rigby and were blessed with four children, Kim Kay; Christine Lyn; Bradley J; and Joan Marie. Carol was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and most enjoyed teaching primary.  Carol worked for JCPenney for 25 years.  After she retired, Carol and Larry enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and going south to escape the Idaho winters; but most of all she loved spending time with her family.  Carol’s hobbies include reading, crocheting, quilting, and embroidery. Carol is survived by three of her children, Joan Marie Pechtel (Robert Nitschke); Bradley J. Toomer (Crista Flint); Christine Lyn Hayward (Greg Hayward); sister, Peggy Edwards (Cliff); LaRene Keele (Craig); Jacqualine Pabst (Calvin); brothers, Don Wright (Donna); Bob Wright (Beverly); Carl Wright (Julie); seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Larry J. Toomer; a daughter, Kim Kay O’Neil; parents, Charles Melvin Wright and Hilda Victoria Erickson Wright; sisters, Elma Walker, Lue Dean Williams, Lanae Jones, Janet Purser. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Rigby Stake Center, 258 W. 1st N. Rigby.  The family will visit with friends Thursday, May 18, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby; and on Friday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.  Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.  Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
