Carolyn Rae Moore age 61, passed away peacefully in her sleep October 4, 2001 in Roberts, Idaho after a difficult struggle with cancer.
She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho December 20, 1949 to Alta Pifer and John Caverhill.
Carolyn led a full and busy life; she loved traveling and lived in several places. She attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School in 1967.
She married Gary Johnson and had two boys, Gary and Johnny. Gary and she were later divorced. For many years, she worked as a baker for Albertsons and was well known for her delicious cinnamon rolls, cakes and pies which she generously shared with family, coworkers and friends. She drove to the Ririe Recreation Area daily where she worked in the office. In this position she wrote a number of successful grants for the improvement of the Ririe Dam area. She enjoyed this job immensely as she loved the outdoors and was particularly pleased to be able to work around her son, Gary; also a Parks and Recreation employee.
She married John Hall and together they had a girl, Brandy. John and Carolyn were later divorced.
Carolyn then met one of the great loves of her life, Jim Moore, whom she married in 1988. They spent over twenty beautiful years together. They loved their home, family and animals. They especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, Emily and Kyler. The last few years Brandy’s son Kyler was a special joy to them. They spent many summer’s at the Fish and Game home, and on the farm working, planting, chopping wood and playing together. Fishing together on Birch Creek was also a favorite pastime. Carolyn was an avid reader, and made beautiful crocheted Afghans for her family. As a mother, wife, sister, and friend she was kind, caring and thoughtful towards others. She was hard-working, humble, tolerant, and positive. She helped care for Jim’s aging parents and until her last day and called her mother, Alta, 81, each morning and evening to make sure she was doing well. As a child and on into adulthood, she never met an orphaned cat that she did not bring home with expectations of the family providing shelter, food and water.
She was preceded in death by her father, John, husband, Jim, and brother, Jeff. She was exceptionally pleased recently when a pond in Roberts, Idaho was named in memory of her husband, Jim who passed away last year. Carolyn leaves behind a loving mother, Alta Blake, three children: Gary Johnson and wife Peggy, Johnny Johnson, Brandy Hall, and two grandchildren, Emily Johnson and Kyler Bryant. She is also survived by her brothers John Caverhill (wife Treena), Steven Caverhill (wife, Bonnie), Michael Caverhill (wife, LaVina), David Montgomery-Blake (wife, Marni), a sister, Jennifer Fisher (husband, Jerry) and large extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service is planned at the Jim Moore Pond in Roberts at a later date.
