Charles Michael Cottrell, 68, of St. Anthony, died Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of complications of heart disease. Mike was born March 16, 1939 in San Diego, California a son of Chester Hoggan Cottrell and Mary Eileen Bogue Cottrell. Mike was raised in San Diego and attended schools there graduating from Point Loma High School. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He served in the Air Force. He worked in the Aero Space industry and on the XB70 aircraft and the Apollo Space Craft. He married Linda Kay Bowden on April 15, 1967 in Yuma, Arizona. They lived in San Diego and raised their family. Mike was employed by Solar Turbines Incorporated and did many jobs including building gas turbine engines and trouble shooting in both domestic and industrial field service, traveling to many countries. He lived and worked in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana and finally settled in St. Anthony with his wife Linda in 2000. He retired from Solar Turbines Inc. in 1996. He then worked for the Wood Group Industries Turbine Inc. out of Louisiana until 2004. Mike loved to fish, race motorcycles cross country, camping, the outdoors, and he became an avid wildlife photographer. Mike is survived by his wife Linda Cottrell of St. Anthony, four daughters Sherry D. (Mark) Fecteau of Detroit, Michigan, Debra Delong of Phoenix, Arizona, Dorothy Cottrell of Rexburg, Kimberly (Mike) Greenhaugh of Pocatello, one son Wade R. (Janice) Cottrell of San Diego, California, three sisters, Kathleen Monroe of Phoenix, Arizona, Coleen Bonville of Everett, Washington, Betty Jo McCoy of Seattle, Washington, one brother Pat (Melody) Cottrell of Stanwood, Washington, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2007, at the United Methodist Church in Ashton (178 South 5th) with Pastor Barbara Bunsold officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
