Charles Leroy Davis

January 19, 1935 — June 9, 2011

Charles “Chuck” LeRoy Davis, 76, of Terreton, Idaho, died Thursday, June 09, 2011, at Idaho Falls Care and Rehabilitation Center. Chuck was born January 19, 1935 in Roberts, Idaho to John LeRoy Davis and Edith Elizabeth Nordstrom Davis. He grew up and attended schools in the Mud Lake/Terreton area making lifelong friends of many that he would meet. He married Imogene Perrin of Terreton on July 23, 1953 and was blessed with a son and a daughter, Farren and Cyndy. They later divorced and he married Shirley McCall of Pocatello. He worked as a heavy equipment operator all over the western United States and became known as one of the best crane operators in the region. His happiness and joy was his family. He moved back to Terreton when his parents’ health started to fail and cared for them till their death. He was passionate about the Senior Center in Mud Lake and spent many hours coordinating activities and managing the facility. He loved all eight of his grandchildren and was proud of all their successes and accomplishments. He was blessed with two great-grandchildren that the thought of brought a smile to his face. Like his mother, he always remembered birthdays and special days with a card and gift. His life experience gave him a peculiar wit and an uncanny wisdom that he often shared with family and friends. His “Mud Lake one liners”, were given quickly and off the cuff, touching the funny bone of anyone within hearing range. To those of us whose lives he touched, we are blessed and better for having known him. We will miss him greatly till we can be together again. He is survived by his wife Shirley, of Pocatello ; two brothers, Thomas (Vicki) Davis of Kimberly, Idaho, Mark Davis of Nampa; children, Farren (Nancy) Davis and Cyndy (Joseph) Lord both of Ammon, Idaho, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert and Richard Davis, sister, Patsy Bruderer; and grandson Michael Davis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery in Idaho Falls following the service. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the West Jefferson Senior Center of Mud Lake Idaho.
