Charles Walter Furrows, 84, of Idaho Falls, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his home. He was under the care of Teton Home Health and Hospice.
He was born May 25, 1929 in Westfield, Massachusetts to Albert Walter Furrows and Louisa Mildaise Potter Furrows. He was raised and attended schools in Feeding Hills and Agawam, Massachusetts. He served in the US Marine Corps. On June 10, 1953, he married Kathryn Day in Jersey City, New Jersey; they later divorced.
Charles worked for Ford Motor Co., he owned and operated a service station, Allendale Chevron in Allendale, New Jersey and worked as a plumber for Spaulding Plumbing. He was a Volunteer Firefighter for the Allendale Fire Department, and also worked at Delray Community Hospital in Florida. He moved to Roberts in 2000 to be closer to his family and then to Idaho Falls later on.
Charles enjoyed deep sea fishing, sports and socializing and singing Karaoke, he also loved doing puzzles, reading and telling jokes.
He is survived by his son, Keith (Lori) furrows, of Biloxi, Mississippi, grandchildren, Christopher (Jacqlyn) Furrows, Charles Furrows, great grandchildren, Alexander Furrows and Cora Howell, all of Idaho Falls.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, and brothers, Raymond Holden Furrows, Albert Furrows.
The family extends their appreciation to Lana, Britney, Jessica and Rosie at Teton Home Health and Hospice and Amy at Helping Hands for their services.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery.
