Charles Richard Vadnais, 80, of Kilgore, Idaho passed away at his home on March 11, 2024.

He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on September 26, 1943 to Alfred & LaVerne Vadnais.  He attended schools in Clark County, including the Kilgore and Idmon schools and graduated from Clark County High School in Dubois in 1962.

He married Sharon Kay Savage on December 5, 1964 and they had four children, Rick, Charleen, Shelli and KayDee.

Charles worked for area ranches as well as the copper mines in Butte, Montana before he returned with his young family to the family ranch in Kilgore Idaho in 1968, where he would continue ranching for the next 56 years.  During this time, he also started a very successful fencing business which he operated until the time of his death.

He was a Clark County Commissioner for District 1, from 1976 until his retirement in 2000.  He also served as a longtime member of the Clark County Rodeo Association.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon of Kilgore, Idaho; his children Rick (Tammy) Vadnais of Idaho Falls, Idaho Shelli (Brian) Tubbs, of Kimberly, Idaho and KayDee Maher of Idaho Falls, Idaho as well as 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.   He is preceded in death by his daughter, Charleen, his parents, 8 sisters and 3 brothers.

Services will be held at Eckersell Memorial Chapel Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
