Our sweet mother and grandmother, Charlotte Williams Giles, age 90, passed away on September 2, 2021 in the home of her son, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mom was born on April 1, 1931 in Malad, Idaho to Arthur LaVen Williams and Hazel Hayball Davis and graduated from Malad High school. Mom was a very independent woman for her era and worked in various vocations and cities in her single adult life, including serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Western Canada. On a fortunate day after her mission, while cruising “main street,” she met DeLoy Giles and our mother knew right away DeLoy would be her sweetheart. On April 11, 1963 DeLoy and Charlotte married in the Logan, UT temple. She primarily lived her life in Malad, Pocatello, and Rigby Idaho. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Charlotte served her Father in Heaven and her Savior in many ways, including church callings and missionary service. Mom was compassionate and non-judgmental and a friend to everyone. She cared deeply for others and prayed daily for many people. Mom was preceded in death by her husband, DeLoy Henry Giles, her parents and her brother Arthur. She is survived by Brady (Kristen) Giles of Highland, UT; Nicole (Mark) Finn of Rigby, ID; Newman Giles of Rigby, ID; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and sisters Alaina, Ruth, LaRetta, Elease, and brother Tim. We thank the many care givers of Solace Hospice, especially Brittany and Shalyce for their compassionate professionalism; Cloudnine Agency, and Visiting Angels Agency. A special thanks to Noelia Perez who was mom’s primary care giver and who became not only a good friend but a daughter. Services will be at held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 11:00am at the Grant 2nd ward chapel located at 3431 East 100 North, Rigby, Idaho 83442. A viewing will precede the service from 9:30 to 10:45 am. The interment will be in the Malad City cemetery at approximately 2:00 pm September 8, 2021.
