Christie Jean Berrett, age 45, of Roberts, died Friday, September 7, 2007 at her home in Roberts. Christie was born October 21, 1961 in Idaho Falls, Idaho a daughter of Max Call and Nina Jean Amy Hoggan. She was raised in the Clark County area and graduated from the Clark County High School. She attended college in Riverton, Wyoming on a rodeo scholarship studying Animal Husbandry. Christie married William Reed Berrett on September 11, 1981 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He preceded her in death. She owned and operated the Market Lake Ranch with her husband. Christie was an Equestrian Instructor for Special Olympics and Handicapped children at the Sagebrush Arena in Hailey, Idaho. She was a member of the Roberts Community Church, and was on the Dubois Rodeo Board for a number of years. Christie enjoyed her family, horses, riding, camping, 4-H, cooking, crafts, sewing, quilting, and volunteering for community events. Survivors include companion Toby Albertson of Roberts, two sons, William McCall Berrett, and James Whitworth Berrett both of Roberts, parents, Jean (John) Wheeler of Idaho Falls, and one brother Matthew D. Hoggan of Dubois, Idaho, one granddaughter Taylor McKell Berrett. Christy was preceded in death by father, husband and two daughters, Katie and Ginger. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Roberts Community Church. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and prior to the service on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Market Lake Cemetery in Roberts under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com.
