Christopher James Horrocks, 52 of Rigby, Idaho, died August 22, 2023. He was a kind man who loved his family. He was passionate about learning as much as he could in this life and teaching others about lessons from a book and in life.
Chris was born in Santa Clara, CA to Richard Christian Horrocks (Santaquin, Utah) and Annie Irene Sterner (Lovell, WY).
During his adult life, Chris lived in Cupertino and Campbell, CA and then moved to Rigby, Idaho in 2005. He married his sweet wife Mary Ellen Smith on May 4, 2001 in the Oakland Temple in California.
Chris received a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix in October 2018; however, he was always learning something new. Chris was admired for his ability to teach the mundane and the most complex, both in the workforce and in his personal life. He worked as an instructor for those repairing non-stop computer servers for Netframe, he was a program manager for Hewlett-Packard, an insurance salesman, a business consultant, and most recently, he provided customer service for Pitch-59. When Chris learned about a given topic, he studied it until complete understanding came and then shared that knowledge with those around him. He was a great man in this life and will be missed here as he enters this new chapter of learning.
Chris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently serving as a Gospel Doctrine Instructor. He loved to shoot his firearms, play Dungeons & Dragons with his children, gardening, and was an ardent supporter of Operation Underground Railroad .
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Smith Horrocks, children: Valancy Stirling, Deaglan Grey, Eirnin Christian, and Cian Scott. His siblings: Cheryl Ann (Scott) Currie of Mellon ID, Cleve (Lana) Horrocks of Orem UT, Jed Deon Horrocks of Oakley, CA (deceased), Merriam Frasier of Rexburg, ID, Ric (Shawn) Horrocks of Oakley, CA, and Sam Horrocks of Gordonsville, WV.
Preceded in Death by his parents Richard and Annie Horrocks.
