Christopher Cory Kidd, 49, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away May 12, 2026, at Temple View Transitional Care Center. Christopher Cory “Critter” Kidd was known for his outgoing personality, quick humor, and ability to make friends wherever he went. From a young age, the nickname “Critter” followed him through life and became the name most people knew him by.

He was born July 22, 1976, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Cory V. Kidd and Melodi Jo Walker, both of Idaho. He graduated from high school and went on to work in carpet and flooring installation, as well as carpentry and construction.

Christopher lived in several places throughout his adult life, including Las Vegas, Nevada; Idaho Falls and Rigby, Idaho; and St. George, Utah.

He was previously married to Laura (Knowles) Tipton from April 1995 to August 1998, and later to Karyn Marissa (Rhead) Kidd from April 2000 to December 2012.

Christopher was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and participated in the Boy Scouts of America.

He was athletic and naturally talented, especially on the basketball court, and carried a bold sense of individuality that made him stand out. Those closest to him remember his charisma, his sense of humor, and the way he could still make others laugh even during difficult times.

Though his life carried many hardships and struggles, including battles with addiction and health challenges, those who loved him recognized beneath it all a man who deeply desired connection, love, and healing.

Above all, Christopher was the father of five children whom he loved deeply and was proud of. His family and loved ones will remember both the joy he brought and the complicated, deeply human journey he lived.

Christopher loved sports and the connection they brought with family and friends. He especially enjoyed basketball and golf, and many remember his talent on the court and the golf course alike. He valued the camaraderie and teamwork that came through athletics and later shared that passion by coaching recreation center basketball and volunteering with his children’s little league teams.

He also loved hiking in the wilderness with his kids and spending time outdoors with them. Those who knew Critter often remember his big hugs, positive energy, friendly nature, and ability to make people feel welcome. He was known as a great friend, a kind man, and someone who genuinely enjoyed being around others.

Christopher Cory Kidd (“Critter,” “Crytt”) is survived by his children, Christopher Chayse (Liv), Karissa (Dayton), Kadynce (Slater), CyRone, and Ceyk, and by their mother, Karyn Kidd, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho. His memory will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.

He is also lovingly remembered by his father, Cory Kidd, of Meridian, Idaho; and his siblings: Tyler Kidd (Heather) of Washington, Utah; Aubri Dickerson of Washington, Utah; Kade Kidd (Cami) of Orem, Utah; Ali Perez (Steven) of St. George, Utah; Miquela Clark (Ryan) of Washington, Utah; Jamin Kidd (Aubrey) of Boise, Idaho; Cyrus Kidd (Felicia) of Boise, Idaho; and Kason Kidd of Boise, Idaho.

He also leaves behind 20 nieces and nephews and 3 grandchildren.

Christopher was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Melodi Mathews; his grandparents, Billy and Larena Myrth Kidd and Reed and Leanne Walker; and his aunt, Mauna Rae Allen.

A private service will be held for immediate family members. The family appreciates the love and support shown during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity supporting mental health and addiction services through funraise.org, benefiting The Access Foundation, as selected by his sister Ali Kidd Perez.
