Christy Leone Torres

Christy Leone Torres, age 54, of Rigby, passed away December 6, 2019, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Christy was born February 15, 1965, in Rexburg, Idaho a daughter of Neil Frank Jeffs and Marjorie Lee Oakden Jeffs. Christy was raised in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School.  While in High School she worked for the Tauphas Park Zoo.  She really loved working with the animals. She worked for the Idaho Falls Clinic as a receptionist and microfilm.  She worked for the Jefferson School District 251 in the lunch program.  She married Jesse Torres Jr. on July 20, 1984 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  They were later divorced.

She truly loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. That was the light of her life.

Christy is survived by her children; Sarah Amelia Gregston of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Tyson Lewis (Tiffany) Torres of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  Her parents; Neil Frank Jeffs of Rigby, Idaho and Marjorie Lee Moedl of Rigby, Idaho.  Brothers and Sister; Eva Jeffs of Phoenix, Arizona, Donald Jacobson of Vancouver, Washington, Vernon Jeffs of Rigby, Idaho and Larry (Bernadette) Jeffs of Sacramento, California and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Eckersell Memorial Chapel. The family will meet with family prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.  Interment will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
