Cindy Marie Kelly, age 47, of Rexburg, died at her home Monday January 3, 2005.
Cindy was born April 21, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah a daughter of Robert Hancock Wanlass and Virginia Lee Swafford. She attended schools in Salt Lake City graduating from South High School. On February 22, 1975 she married Richard Brent Kelly in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple May 9, 1989.
Cindy worked for McDonalds and was the first woman manager. She was a substitute teacher in the Madison School District, taught Chapter One at the Lyman Elementary and was a Computer Teacher in the Madison Middle School. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught primary for many years and was involved in the Scouting program
Cindy organized the first St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Salt Lake City. She also served on the Board of Directors for Madison Baseball in Rexburg.
She loved camping, her family and was delighted in her children.
She is survived by her husband Richard Brent Kelly of Rexburg, 1 daughter Amanda Marie Kelly of Rexburg, 1 son Cody Brent Kelly of Rexburg, her mother Virginia Wanlass of Salt Lake City, Utah, 2 sisters; Laura (David) Medici of Salt Lake City, Utah and Wendy (Kevin) Gouldsburg of Atlanta, Georgia; 2 brothers: Bob (Leslie) Wanlass of Stanberry Park, Utah and Dennis (Karen) Wanlass of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her father and 1 sister Linda Gates.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in the Lyman 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Randy Landon officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Lyman Church. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
