Clair J. Koplin, 74, of Rigby, Idaho, husband, brother, father, grandfather, friend, mentor and especially hero left this earth peacefully on October 21, 2010 after a long, valiant battle with kidney disease. Clair was born February 21, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward and Lucille Koplin. His early years taught him to love and appreciate family above all else. He made family his top priority throughout his life. He loved sports and was a talented football player. He played for East High School and the University of Utah before meeting the love of his life, Karla Tirrell who brought him to the home of his heart at “160” in Rigby, Idaho. They were married September 4, 1959 and later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 21, 1965. They were blessed to have seven children: Kelly (Becky), Camille Carboneau Roberts (Mike), Kevin (Mindy), Karleen Lynes (Robert), Cristine Andersen (LaMar), Kendall (Michelle), Kurtis (Julie). They have 34 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. He shared a special relationship with each of his family members as well as neighbors and friends. Clair enjoyed driving truck and working with all the customers of Rigby Coal and Feed until the company was sold. He was an upholsterer by trade and owned and operated K Upholstery for over 50 years. He was ambitious and industrious and his work ethic was astounding. He loved and took great pride in his work. In his business endeavors, he established life-long friends and trusted relationships. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully in many callings and he truly loved the gospel. He instilled gospel principles in every aspect of his life and was an example to all. He shared his testimony freely and was an inspiration. He was respected by all who were privileged to know him. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, children and brothers, Kerris & Michael Koplin of Salt Lake City, Utah, and a sister Tami Welliver, of Seattle, Washington. Funeral services will be held at the Rigby East Stake Center on October 25, 2010 at 11 am. Family will meet with friends and loved ones at the Rigby East Stake Center on Sunday, October 24th from 6 to 7:30 pm and from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Monday, October 25th.
