Clifton Max Thomas

Clifton Max Thomas, age 75, passed away at his home in Menan, Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  He was born January 10, 1942 in Idaho Falls, Idaho a son to Max Cowles Thomas and Verda Scott Thomas. He attended schools in Menan and Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School.  He attended one year at the University of Idaho and two years at Ricks College.  He served with U.S. Army 116th Battalion in Viet Nam and continued in the National Guard for 30 years.  He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.   He married Launa Renae Boyce September 14, 1964 in Rigby, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.  He farmed in the Menan area all his life.  He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He enjoyed his family and attending sporting events of his grandchildren.  He is survived by his wife Launa Thomas of Menan, two daughters; Brittney (Andrew) Cremata of Skagway, Alaska, and Breann (Ryan) Babcock of Spokane, Washington, six sons; Blake (Michelle) Thomas of Golden, Colorado, Bart (Chris) Thomas of Buffalo, Wyoming, Brad (Natalie) Thomas of Pocatello, Idaho, Brock (Lindsay) Thomas of Golden, Colorado, Blair (Stephanie Palmer) Thomas of Skagway, Alaska and Gavin Thomas of Menan, one sister; Marie (Thayne) Keele of Grace, Idaho a brother Tray (Tammy) Thomas of Vanmeter, Iowa, sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Mark and Bill.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Menan LDS Chapel, 3547 East Menan-Lorenzo Hwy., Menan, Idaho 83434. The family will visit with friends Friday August 25, 2017 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Rigby, Idaho 83442, and on Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church in Menan.  Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
