Campbell, age 85 of Rigby, passed away at Life Care of Idaho Falls on Sunday, December 4, 2022. Cline was born July 26, 1937 at Salt Lake City, Utah, a son to Milo Golden Campbell and Alporta Allen Campbell. He was called to serve a 3-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to the Japan, Tokyo Mission. Soon into his service, he was reassigned as a pioneer missionary to the Korea, Seoul Mission. Cline attended college in Southern Utah and at BYU in Provo, Utah earning bachelor degrees in Religious Studies and International Relations. He joined the National Guard immediately following his mission, later transferring to full time service with the United States Army. He served as a Green Beret in the United States Army and as a Chaplain. He was stationed at Camp Casey Korea and various Army bases in the United States of America. Following active duty, Cline served as a Chaplain for the Utah National Guard at Camp Williams, at the Utah State Prison, and for the Utah State Patrol. He married Gerhardt “Garee” Rose Goeckeritz and they later divorced. On February 2, 2004, he married Eleanor Grace Henderson in Garden Valley, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 14, 2012. They have lived in the Rigby, Idaho area for almost 17 years. Cline found great joy in serving others and with his many hobbies. He raised Rex rabbits for fur, riding and raising horses, and reading. He loved his hobby farms and gardening. Cline earned a black belt in Taekwondo while serving as a Chaplain in Korea and opened a Taekwondo school upon returning to the United States. During his years at BYU, Cline started a flying club for private pilots. Most recently he was able to serve in the Idaho Falls Temple. Survivors include his wife, Grace Campbell of Rigby, Idaho; two daughters, Chauncey (Alex) Turley of Hurricane, Utah, and Paige (Josh) Allred of Santa Clara, Utah, five sons: Cyler G. (Heather) Campbell of Quitman, Texas, Creighton G. (Yvette) Campbell of Las Vegas, Nevada, Connor G. (Tania) Campbell of Janesville, Wisconsin, Cormick G. (Lisa) Campbell of Layton, Utah and Scott Carl of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, two sisters: Ravona Pike of Queen Creek, Arizona and Sherie (Ed) Seegmiller of Payson, Utah, two brothers: Voin (Karla) Campbell of Manti, Utah and Creg (Robin) Campbell of St. Joseph, Missouri, 26 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Cline is preceded in death by his parents: Milo and Alporta Campbell; sister Reine Campbell; brothers: Milo Kay Campbell, Glade Fred Campbell, and Elman Lynn Campbell; daughter: Channin Campbell. The family will visit with friends at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho 83442) on Friday, December 23, 2022 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Circleville, Utah (195 W 200 N Circleville, Utah 84723) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with the viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Kingston Cemetery (380 West Cemetery Road, Kingston, Utah 84743) where Military Rites will be performed.
