Colby Kent Rolfe, 24, of Rigby, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 due to complications of an illness. In the comfort of his home, he was surrounded by those who loved him most.
He was born August 11, 1990 in Idaho Falls, son of Kent W. Rolfe and Janet Marie Ashbocker Rolfe.
Colby graduated from Rigby High School in 2009, then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints in the Brazil Sao Paulo North Mission from September 2009 – September 2011. After returning from his mission he attended Brigham Young University-Idaho, majoring in Exercise Physiology. While attending college he met and married his sweet wife Melissa in the Rexburg Temple. All he ever wanted was to be a husband and father. Melissa was his perfect complement and she and Lyla fulfilled his dreams. During Colby’s short life here on earth he was privileged to serve as a temple ordinance worker and held several church callings including: Elder’s Quorum President, Sunday School Teacher and Executive Secretary. He worked for Modern Plumbing, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Journeys and Robison Farms. Colby loved fishing, hunting, sports, camping and being surrounded by family and friends. His smile would light up a room and he made everyone his best friend. Colby was a joy to be around, loved life and lived every day to the fullest.
Colby is survived by his wife Melissa Kay Cook Rolfe, a daughter Lyla Marie Rolfe, parents Kent W. and Janet Marie Rolfe all of Rigby, a sister Kayla Rolfe Fry of Burlington, Washington, two brothers Dustin Rolfe of Wiesbaden, Germany and Kendall Rolfe of Rigby, grandmothers Janet Ashbocker of Lewisville and Zoe Rolfe of Rigby.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Rex Rolfe and Gary Ashbocker.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Clark LDS Church, 198 North 4300 East, Rigby. The family will visit with friends at the Clark LDS Church Tuesday, July 28th, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
