Colleen Huff Brown, 84 of Idaho Falls, formerly of Pocatello, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
She was born March 14, 1926, in Teton, Idaho, to Thomas Alberto Huff and Rosa Hester Tuck Huff. She attended elementary school in Driggs, and high school in Rexburg and Pocatello.
On November 27, 1948, she married Scott Wilson Brown in Pocatello, Idaho; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was employed by Kraft Foods for 9 years; working as a Lab Technician, she also owned and managed rental properties for many years.
Colleen is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, and has served in many capacities including; Visiting Teacher, Young Women Leader and Relief Society Teacher. Colleen enjoyed art, gardening, interior decorating, fishing, sewing, making quilts, reading and traveling. Her greatest gift was loving people. She was always gentle and kind in speech and in action and had many friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti Lynn Greer, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, sisters, Frances Nell Harris, of Pocatello, Idaho, Gwen (Thomas) Gilbert, of Shingle Town, California, brother, Warren Reed (Beulah) Huff of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho and 3 grandsons, Daniel, Darren and Jonathan Greer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott, sons, Larry Lee Brown, Norman Brown, Galen Brown, a sister, Rosa Loraine Huff, and a brother, Thomas Hal Huff.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Lincoln Stake Center, located on the corner of Hitt Road and Mesa Street in Idaho Falls; 2545 Mesa Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the Lincoln Stake Center. Burial will be in the Teton Newdale Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
