Colleen Clark Mortensen, 66, of Rexburg, passed away at her home, Tuesday, September 9, 2008, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born December 13, 1941, in Idaho Falls, to Wallace “Pat” Clark and Verla Browning Clark.
She graduated from Idaho Falls High School, Ricks College, and Excelsis Beauty School.
On March 29, 1963, she married Lorin L. Mortensen in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several callings including Young Women’s, Primary, Relief Society and Scouting programs. Her sons were all Eagle Scouts and served LDS Missions.
Colleen was an excellent cook and enjoyed floral arranging, trail rides, snowmobiling, gardening, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her Mother, Verla Browning Clark of Rexburg, her husband, Lorin L. Mortensen of Rexburg, two daughters; Cindy Jo (Scott) Christensen of Layton, UT, Misty Michelle (Kent) Smith of Rexburg, four sons; Todd Lorin (Noreen) Mortensen of Willard, UT, Monte Kim (Danell) Mortensen of Logan, UT, Justin Clark (Dana) Mortensen of Perry, UT, Blake Archie (Randi) Mortensen of Rexburg, a sister, Jan Clark (Brett) Siepert of Rexburg, two brothers, Von Wallace (Carla) Clark of Rexburg, Archie Brent (Nedra) Clark of Idaho Falls, and twenty grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace “Pat” Clark, and grandparents, Arch and Neona Browning and John and Floella Clark.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2008, in the Lyman 1st Ward Chapel, with Bishop Dan Peterson conducting. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., Saturday at the Church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
