Colten James Ritter was born March 26, 1989, on Easter morning in Layton, Utah. He was instantly loved by all of his older siblings. As he grew, he brought laughter, smiles, and a little frustration to everyone. He was well known to take apart anything he could get his hands on. There were numerous toys, pieces of furniture and especially his dad’s tools, that when they fell into Colten’s hands they were whole, but eventually ended up in pieces, never to be put back together again. He really just wanted to see how things worked, not particularly have them work. He passed away February 2, 2021 with complications from diabetes at the age of 31.
Colten married Tiffany Kunzler on February 18, 2012. They have four darling children, Kyle (14), Serenity (8), Taesha (7), and Aaliyah (3).
He graduated from Eastern Idaho Technical College with two separate degrees, Diesel Technology, and Automotive Technology at the top of his class. He loved showing his sister Bailey that his grades were better than hers. He enjoyed “mechanicing duties” at Super T Transport, DePatco, and Cedar Point Trucking. He was always very generous with his time and expertise to help friends and family with their automotive needs and loved to trade and barter for things he wanted. He never wandered far from home and lived in Idaho Falls and Ririe.
Camping and fishing with his family was always a highlight for him. He enjoyed everything outdoors, dirt biking, hunting, target shooting, (actually, anything with guns), snowboarding, and playing at the lake. And of course, there was always time for a video game with family and friends.
Colten is survived by his wife, Tiffany, his children, Kyle, Serenity, Taesha, and Aaliyah, of Ririe, Idaho, his parents, Kim and Reneé Ritter of Rigby, Idaho, his sister, Amy Gerard (Matt) of Saratoga Springs, Utah, his brother, Jeff Ritter (Alexis) of South Jordan, Utah, his sister, Shelli Madsen (Dave) of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, his brother, Bryce Ritter of Ririe, Idaho, his sister Bailey Reed (Allen) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, his sister, Krissy Howard of Jerome, Idaho, and his sister Kylee Lemarr (Drew) of Jerome, Idaho.
His parents want to thank Aspen Home Health Care for their diligence in supporting his recovery efforts this past year and the many friends and neighbors who continued to check on him.
