Coy Michie Harmon, 90, of Rigby, Idaho and formerly of Rexburg, Idaho passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 in her home.
Coy was born January 27, 1933 in Roosevelt, Utah, the daughter of Monroe Michie and Delsa Jane Hardman Michie. She chose her career as a nurse, graduating from Ricks College. She worked at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho as a labor and delivery nurse and was a clinical instructor at Ricks College.
Coy was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved family history and worked in the family history center Rigby. Primary was her favorite part of the church. Gardening and her yard were her passion as was service. She made her home, her family and the Lord the center of her life.
Coy is survived by her loving husband, Philip Harmon. Her daughters; Carol (Michael) Whitten of Meridian, Idaho, Sharon (Shawn) Yates of Sandy, Utah, and Beverly (Kenneth) Vian of Summit Point, West Virginia. Sons; Gordon (Pam) Harmon of Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia and Scott (Michele) Harmon of Idaho Falls, Idaho and a daughter-in-law, Karen Birch. She and Philip have been blessed with twenty grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Delsa Jane Michie. A son, Philip Harmon. A grandson, McKean Whitten. A great grandson, Johnathan Harmon, and a great granddaughter, Abigail Wahl.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the Rigby 5 th Ward LDS Chapel (258 West 1 st North, Rigby, ID). At Coy’s request, a visitation will not be held prior to the service. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery in Rexburg, Idaho.
