Curtis Wayne Grubbs, 78 of Idaho Falls, passed away November 7, 2019 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Curtis was born September 12, 1941 in Danville, Virginia to William Coleman Grubbs and Janie Phillips Dalton. He attended Gretna High School in Gretna, Virginia then studied Industrial Engineering, earning his Associate’s Degree. Curtis served as a Police Officer for 25 years in Danville, Virginia and Animal Control Officer for 10 years, in Norfolk, Virginia; and worked in quality control for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 10 years, also in Danville, Virginia. He was blessed with 2 daughters, Angela and Sheila, and a son, Jeffrey. In 2002 he moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Curtis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed genealogy and family history. He was also a member of The Fraternal Order of Police.
He is survived by his daughters; Angela Grubbs (James Murphy) of Danville, Virginia, Sheila (Larry) Smithers of Ringgold, Virginia; son, Jeffrey (Lizbeth) Grubbs of Idaho Falls, Idaho; sister, Betty Jean (Roy) Dalton of Gretna, Virginia; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Grubbs and Janie Dalton; stepfather Percy Clarence Dalton, sisters, Dorothy Reese, Barbara Lipscomb, Josephine Guernard; and 1 grandchild, Jamie Lynn Grubbs.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:45 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. A graveside service will follow at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., services are under the care of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby.
