D. Lamar Brower

D. LaMar Brower, age 78, of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on August 11, 2024.

LaMar was born May 20, 1946, a son to Merrill Earl Brower and Zelda Merle Finn in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

On July 27, 1968 LaMar married Sharlene Hendershott in Santa Monica, California who he had 7 children with. They later divorced and then was married to Barbara Jo Beesley in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 24, 1989. They had one daughter Krysta. While he was in his teenage years, he attended school at Teton Driggs High school and later attended Ricks College after finishing high school.

With his love for driving, came with many job opportunities to fulfill his passion. He was a school bus driver for 9 years in the valley as well as drove truck for the farm, Ucon produce, DI, and finished his driving career for CART, and then retired.

LaMar was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He achieved his Eagle scout, served an LDS mission in the California south mission, and as well served as a ward librarian for 13 years with Barbara. Not only did he have a love for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He also had a passion for camping, hunting, riding horses, 4 wheeling, and being with family. LaMar has 23 grandkids and 20 great-grandkids with 2 on the way that he absolutely loves.

LaMar is survived by his Wife Barbara Brower, daughters Beverly (Shawn) Ball of Ririe, Idaho, Elizabeth (Alex Martin) Henderson of Island Park, Idaho, Letitia (Jerry) Klein of Rigby, Idaho, Chanelle Woodland (Daughter-in-law) of Ucon, Idaho, Sons William “Billy” (Wendi) Brower of Sugar City, Idaho, David (LeAnn) Brower of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Sisters Leyan (Dean) Scott of Maricopa, Arizona, and Mischelle Horn (Sister-in-law) of Ogden, Utah.

He is preceded in death by his parents Merrill Earl Brower and Zelda Merle Finn, daughters Becki Jackson and Krysta, son Daniel Brower, sister Karen Murdock (Cal), brothers Phil Brower, Dennis Brower (Jerilee), and Tony Brower (Sandy).

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 19, 2024, at 11:00am at the Garfield 4th Ward Church (5 North 3900 East Rigby, Idaho 83442) with a viewing prior from 9:30am to 10:45am. The Family will also meet with family and friends the night before at Eckersell funeral home (101 West Main Street Rigby, Idaho 83442) on August 18th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Interment will follow after the service at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com
