Dale Russell Phillips

Dale Russell Phillips, 74, of Idaho Falls, died July 1, 2013 at his home. He was born July 8, 1938, in Idaho Falls to Lee Phillips and Wanda Bowles Phillips. He was raised and attended schools in the Rigby area, graduating from Rigby High School. On July 3, 1957, he married Wanda Workman in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. He worked as a salesman for The Keebler Company for 22 years. Dale was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he, along with his wife, served an 18 month mission at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple Visitors Center. He also served as a officiator in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple, and was a faithful home teacher. Most recently he served as a High Priest Group Assistant. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Phillips, of Rigby, daughter, Barbara P. McMurtrey, of Rigby, sons, Dale Mark (Jackie) Phillips, of Rigby, Rick (Karen) Phillips, of Rigby, Robert, (Michelle) Phillips, of Meridian, Brian (Jodie) Phillips. of Blackfoot, Scot (Melanie) Phillips, of Kuna, sister, Wanda Kay (Mike) Poston, of Rigby, brother, Larry (Debbie) Phillips, of Orem, Utah, Kenneth (Lorene) Phillips, of St. Anthony, sister-in-law Elena Phillips, of Provo, 32 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Brent, sister, Beth and a grandson, Casin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Rigby Stake Center, 258 W. 1st North, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund.
