Dale Ray Summers, 67 of Rigby, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Teton Acute Care and Rehab in Idaho Falls.
Dale was born August 15, 1946 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ray Summers and Margaret Spencer Summers. He attended schools in Ririe. On October 29, 1962 he married Virginia Anne Price in Dillon, Montana. To this union they added 3 daughters and 1 son.
Dale worked for H & K Construction for 15 years. He fell in love with trucking and in 1974 he purchased his first truck; he and his wife Anne enjoyed driving long haul together across America. The last truck he owned was a Peterbilt with a large sleeper; it was his pride and joy and he took great care to keep it cleaned and polished.
Dale loved fishing, owning his own riverboat and hunting until he fell in love with trucking.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Summers, of Rigby, 2 daughters, Kathy (Todd) Howe, of Rigby, Karen (Dave) Reading of California, son, Barry (Karensa) Summers of Seaward, Alaska, sisters, Onda K Smith, of Ririe, Dena (Steven) Staggie of Idaho Falls, Delin (Laren) Minert of Salt Lake City, Utah, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Barbara.
