Dan Edward Berrett, 67, of Rigby, Idaho passed away at the Eastern Idaho Reginal Medical Center, on Thursday March 29, 2018. He was born on March 25, 1951 to Robert Leonard Berrett and Thyrza Roskelley Berrett in Rigby, Idaho. Dan Berrett was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who was noted for his selfless service to others, his dry sense of humor, and his love for his family. Dan was an incredibly hard worker. Whether it was on the farm in his younger years or at the INL during his 35-year career, he was always willing to do whatever needed to be done without complaint. But he was especially willing to drop everything and work in the service of his family. Dan attended Brigham Young University and the University of Idaho where he received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He was a dedicated and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he held a variety of callings, but particularly excelled at teaching. Most recently, he was a well-loved Gospel Doctrine teacher in his ward. Dan loved the outdoors, playing family games, and traveling. He enjoyed studying history, watching documentaries, and reading-especially if the subject was World War II or involved any kind of aircraft. But what he loved most of all was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, all of whom adored him. Dan led by example more than sermons. Through the Christ-like service he gave and the attributes he modeled, he taught his loved ones to be better versions of themselves. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, daughters, Breeana (Justin) Shields of Olympia, Washington, Britnee (David) Landerman of Watertown, New York, sons, Cameron (Nicole) Berrett of Houston, Texas, Derek Berrett of Boise, Idaho, sisters, Janice (Charles) Trent, of Poulsbo, Washington, Sheryl (Dave) Rambeau of Oregon, a sister-in-law, Edna Berrett and 10 grandchildren. Dan was preceded by his parents, Leonard and Thryza, brothers, Keith Berrett, Rob Berrett, Dale Berrett and a sister-in-law Helen Berrett. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rigby Stake Center (258 West 1st North Rigby). The family will meet with friends and family on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main St.) from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. and prior to the service on Tuesday from 9:30a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
