Dana “Groth” Stoltenberg, 61, passed away on November 29, 2025, at the hospital in Gillette, Wyoming. She was born on December 5, 1963, in Idaho to William and Virginia Groth.
Dana grew up in Lewisville and graduated from Rigby High School in 1982. She then attended Ricks College for two years. She married Ted Stoltenberg and devoted her life to being a homemaker. During her adult years, she lived in Idaho Falls; Elko, Nevada; Douglas, Wyoming; and finally, Gillette, Wyoming.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dana found joy in serving others and enjoyed helping with the Gillette Food Truck “Helping Hands.” Her hobbies included baking, crocheting, gardening, and canning—activities she shared with family and friends.
Dana is survived by her husband, Ted; her sons Steven of Salcha, Alaska, William of North Pole, Alaska, and Curtis (Breanna) Stoltenberg of Casper, Wyoming; her eight grandchildren; and her brothers Brett Groth of Seattle, Washington, Donnie Groth of Lewisville, Idaho, Fred Groth of Rigby, Idaho and Eddie Groth of Eureka, Nevada, 9 grandchildren and numerous others that called her grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers JR and Ray; and her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho, with a visitation prior from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
