Dan Flint, age 71, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away peacefully during the week of November 10, 2025. Born on October 15, 1954, in Brigham City, Utah, Dan was known for his strong work ethic and quiet demeanor. After proudly serving in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1979, he worked in forestry and then became a Union Carpenter, traveling across the country and building a respected career that showcased his craftsmanship and dedication.
In retirement, Dan found a love working seasonally for the Forest Service in Cody, Wyoming. This allowed him to immerse himself in nature, a passion he cherished deeply. He loved fishing and hunting, as well as spending time outdoors. Whether casting a line or exploring rugged trails on four-wheelers, he found peace being in the wilderness.
Above all else, Dan cherished his role as a grandfather. Being a grandpa meant the world to him, and nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his beloved granddaughters. He often said that being their grandpa was the highlight of his life.
Dan is survived by his daughters, Danielle and Rachel, as well as his cherished granddaughters. He is also mourned by his three brothers, Mike, Tim, and Russell, and his five sisters, Gayle, Chris, Shirley, Shannon, and Vicki. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Peggy, and one sister, Corey. In honor of his memory, the family will hold a private ceremony in the spring of 2026 to celebrate his life.
