Darlene Marie Moser

March 31, 1939 — January 2, 2013

Darlene Marie Moser, 73, of Rigby, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at her home of cancer. She was born in Rigby, Idaho to Jesse and Alta Briggs and was raised in Lewisville, Idaho. Darlene married her best friend, Ross Moser, on April 18, 1939 in the Idaho Falls Temple. She was an active member of the LDS church, serving in many positions including Counselor in the Relief Society and many years in Primary and Cub Scouts. Darlene had an upholstery business and was a seamstress, sewing everything from bags to baby clothes to wedding dresses, and everything in between. She had the humanitarian workshop sewing bags, and helping groups sew bags, in her home for 10 years. She was known as the "bag lady". Darlene loved to quilt and quilted for hire as well for family and friends, as many as 40 quilts a year. She was everyone's favorite grandma even if she wasn't blood related. Everyone always felt welcome at her home and she could feed a crowd. She was a loving, fun, and very giving person. She is survived by her husband, Ross M Moser, of Rigby, daughters, Marie (Paul) Withers, of Rigby, Sara Jane (Shane) Rampton, of Garland, UT, Melissa (Ben) Campbell, of Juniper, Idaho, Teresa Balls Moser, of Rigby, sons, Marlow (Kaye) Moser, of Victorville, CA, Dudley (Lori) Moser, of Rigby, Stuart (Brent) Moser, of Rigby, Bryce (Amy) Moser, of Blackfoot, Leon (Kerry) Moser, of Sugar City, sisters, Lova Sievers, of Garfield, Ellen Blackwood, of Twin Falls, Melba Jeppson, of Springville, UT, Leon (Louis) Nixon of South Jordan, UT 39 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, William “Bill” Briggs, Jesse Leon Briggs, Charles “Chuck” Briggs, and grandson, Justin Moser. Darlene’s family expresses their sincere appreciation to Teton Oncology staff and Hospice of Eastern Idaho for their love, help and support. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Grant LDS Chapel 3431 E. 100 N. with Bishop Grover Wray, conducting. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, both at the church. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
