Darrell Eugene “Bud” Conrad, age 80, of Rigby, died at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello, Friday, December 16, 2005.
Bud was born September 2, 1925, at Idaho Falls a son to Leslie Eugene and Lodema Sophia Wilde Conrad. He attended schools in Iona. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific, Asiatic and Atlantic theaters with troop transport. Bud was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Yellowstone Chapter #6. He married Helen Fisher in August of 1947 in Pocatello. They were later divorced. He farmed in the Ririe and Iona areas. He enjoyed fishing, mechanical work and gardening.
Survivors include: one daughter Marsha (John) McGrath of Rigby, one son Steven Eugene Conrad of Las Vegas, Nevada, two sisters, Ann (Max) Waters of Blackfoot, Pauline Ballard of Idaho Falls, one brother Byard Conrad of Blackfoot, and 3 grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at 12:00 noon in the Iona Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Interment will follow services in the Iona Cemetery.
