Darsel Merle Morgan, age 84, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Darsel was born May 18, 1922, at Clark, Idaho a son of Vernal Edward Morgan and Jennie Aletha Heyrend Morgan. He attended Rigby Schools. On October 6, 1940 he married Virginia Call in Idaho Falls. He served in the United States Army Airborne Division from 1943 until 1945. He worked as a Manager in Potato processing for AG Stanger Warehouse, and Snake River Produce in Rigby. He then owned dump trucks hauling for Burgraff Construction and H&K Construction. He was an avid horseman and was a member of the National Cutter Association and a life member of American Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed racing horses, cutter racing, hunting, fishing, camping and boating.
Survivors include one daughter Lou Anne (Monte) Grover of Rigby, three sons: Merle D. (Terri) Morgan and Ronald C. (Toni) Morgan both of Idaho Falls, and Robert V. (Judy) Morgan of Rigby, one brother Val (Lavell) Morgan of Idaho Falls, 19 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2006, at 1:00 a.m. at the Rigby East Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and Friday for one hour prior to services at the Rigby East Stake Center. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Military rites will be preformed by the Jefferson Veterans Team.
