David Gene Cook

David Gene Cook; 66, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, formerly of Rigby, Idaho died Thursday, February 13, 2003 at his home in Idaho Falls. Gene was born August 27, 1936 at Idaho Falls, Idaho the son of Don Ford Cook and Clara Greenwood Cook. He attended schools in Ucon, Idaho and graduated from Rigby High School in Rigby, Idaho. He served with the U.S. Army in Alaska. Gene married Deanna Follett on March 28, 1960 at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in the Clark Ward Bishopric and as a High Counselor in the Ririe, Idaho Stake. He worked for the INEEL for 35 years. He rode as a member of the Jefferson County Sheriffs Posse, and was a member of the National Cutter Association. He was involved in the Lamanite Placement Program. He enjoyed his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Deanna F. Cook of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Two daughters; Gina Rae (Craig) Hole of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Cindy (Eric) McMurtrey of Eugene, Oregon. Three sons; Brad (Esther) Cook of Medesto, California, Kevin (Kelly) Cook of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Shaun Cook of Eugene, Oregon. His mother; Clara Cook of Shelley, Idaho and three sisters; Sybil (Allen) Morris of Lewisville, Idaho, Carolyn Groesbeck of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Donna (Ed) Vadnais of Gilmer, Texas. Four brothers; Steve (Valeta) Cook of Rigby, Idaho, Tom Cook of Shelley, Idaho, Roger (Shelley) Cook of Shelley, Idaho and Bruce (Peggy) Cook of Shelley, Idaho. Nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Don F. Cook and one brother Doug Cook. Funeral services will be Monday, February 17, 2003 at the Taylor Crossing LDS Ward Chapel (2040 Brentwood Drive, Idaho Falls, Idaho) at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Kent Browning officiating. The family will meet with friends on Sunday, February 16, 2003 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho and on Monday, February 17, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Taylor Crossing Ward Chapel. Burial will in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Contributions may be made to the Aspen Home Health Care (2240 East 25 Idaho Falls, Idaho 83404).
