David Forest Gohr, age 52, of Idaho Falls, died at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Sunday June 14, 2009.
David was born September 6, 1956 at Idaho Falls, a son of Bob W. and Bertha Ann Wilson Gohr. He attended schools in Menan, Roberts, Midway and Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. He married Barbara Hamilton June 19, 1976 in Menan. They later divorced. He served in the U.S. Army for 13 years. He worked for Idaho Fresh Pak, Menan Co-op, as a house painter, in a Pawn Shop, Intermountain Auto Salvage and as a Long haul truck driver for Edwards Brothers Trucking. In December, 2008, he moved to Constellations Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls.
He enjoyed working on small motors and bicycles, puzzles, watching movies, computers, camping, fishing and outdoor life.
He is survived by two daughters: Jana Hunt of Menan, Stacey Gohr, of Idaho Falls, one son Dustin Gohr of Idaho Falls, his parents, Bob and Ann Gohr of Menan, two sisters: Linda Ann Marler of Salt Lake City, Utah, Karen (Rusty) Jackson of Soda Springs, Idaho, one brother James Gohr of Menan, and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Gohr.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Annis Little Butte Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St., Rigby, prior to graveside services at the cemetery. The family wishes to express thanks and gratitude to Constellations Assisted Living Center.
