David Michael Jolley

June 15, 1950 — November 15, 2025

Rigby, Idaho

David Michael Jolley, 75, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in his home on November 15, 2025, in Rigby. David was born on June 15, 1950, in Glendale, California, to Harold Wayne Jolley and Marceline Agnes Rosay. He was the oldest of eight siblings. His family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was fourteen. They were sealed together as an eternal family in the Los Angeles Temple the following year. David worked as a tile setter's helper for his father for several years during high school and before his mission. After graduation, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the French Canadian Mission in Montreal, Quebec, where he met his future wife. After serving, he married Wanda Lloyd on June 14, 1971, in the Salt Lake Temple.

David studied at Utah Valley Technical College and received his Journeyman license through Ideal Electric in Thomas, Idaho. He then worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a sound and lighting engineer, traveling with the Tabernacle Choir throughout the world. He went to work for Comnet Cellular, which eventually became Verizon Wireless, where he retired. During retirement, he enjoyed driving Uber as a form of entertainment, as he was a friend to all.

David moved many times throughout his life. He lived in various cities in California, Washington, Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming, retiring in Idaho. David was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many capacities, from the Primary Nursery to High Priest Group Leader. His favorite calling was that of an Emergency Preparedness Specialist, due to his expertise in Amateur Radio. He had many hobbies and interests. He was licensed as an Extra Class with the call sign of K7DV.

He enjoyed driving around with the people he loved and spending time with his family. He was nagged by his wife to remodel nearly every house they lived in, so he developed a strong aversion to home renovations. However, he loved Wanda dearly and always supported her with great affection. They were blessed with six beautiful children, five daughters and two sons, and claim another gorgeous daughter as their own.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda, children Luella (Glen) Peterson, of Firth, Sylvia (Jason) Bernert, of Taylorsville, UT, Harold (Vera) Jolley, of West Jordan, UT, Michael (Rebecca) Jolley, of Shelley, Helen (Robert) Jensen, of Afton, WY, Sarah (Jeremy) Clark, of Rigby, and Apryl (Joel) Myers, of Waterloo, IA and his siblings, Mary (Bill) Stephens, Linda (Jeffrey) Stark, Lois Pratt, Charles (Welda) Jolley and Betty (James) Lumpkins. He has twenty-four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Susanne Jolley, brother Paul Jolley, and brother-in-law Don Pratt.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 21st, at the Labelle 4th Ward LDS building. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 20th at the Labelle 4th Ward, 4223 East 528 North, Rigby, ID, and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday before services at the church.
