David George Martin, 77, of Lewisville passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012, at his home.
He was born November 22, 1934 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to William John Martin and Clarice Tanner Martin. He was raised and attended schools in Hillspring, Alberta. He continued his education at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. On August 24, 1963 he married Beverly Lorette Reed in Glenwood, Alberta. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple February 13, 1965. He owned and operated Dave’s Electric for 40 years.
Dave was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Satins; he served in scouting for several years, as the Canning Chairman to the Terreton 2nd Ward and as a Home Teacher. Dave was also the founding member of the Midway Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Martin, of Lewisville, sons, Scott (Trina) Martin, of Orem, Utah, Randy (Marleen) Martin, of Idaho Falls, Ben (Shelley McKenzie) Martin, of Boise, sisters, Helen (Ron) Davis, of Claresholm, Alberta, Canada, Pauline Houghton, of Calgary, Alberta Canada, brothers, Don (Patsy) Marin, of Hillspring, Alberta, Canada, Max (Annette) Martin, of Raymond, Alberta, Canada, Lloyd (Joyce) Martin, of Tallahassee, Florida, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., November 14, 2012 at the Lewisville 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, with Bishop Tony Nielsen, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
