David Lawrence Moorefield, 59, of Rigby, died at Madison Memorial Hospital Tuesday, May 10, 2005. David was born 29 January 1946 at Cobleskill, New York a son of Emmett Bruce Moorefield and Rowena Alice Switzer Moorefield. He graduated from South Pass High School in California. He worked as a Highway Patrol Dispatcher for the California Highway Patrol, as a Forrest Manager for Yellowstone Park Forestry, in maintenance at Big Western Pine Motel in West Yellowstone, Montana, as a salesman for Cal-Ranch in Idaho Falls and M & M Building supply in Rigby. He repaired bicycles in Rigby for the neighborhood children and they knew him as Poncho. He enjoyed woodburning wildlife and nature scenes into raw wood, fishing and spending time outdoors. Survivors include 1 daughter: Rebecca Lynn Moorefield of Apple Valley, California, 4 sons: Timothy Shane Moorefield of Las Vegas, Nevada, Travis Wayne Moorefield of Atascadero, California, Tyson Lance Moorefield and Christopher Teagan Moorefield both of Idaho Falls, 1 sister Grace Elizabeth Elder of Glendora, California, 2 brothers: Bruce Marshall Moorefield of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Paul Edward Moorefield of Corvallis, Oregon, and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ruth Irene Moorefield.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 3866 East 400 North, Rigby with Pastor John Lovegrove officiating.
