David Fredrick Pfost

David Fredrick Pfost passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Idaho Falls Community Hospital, surrounded by family. He was 70.

He was born in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Texas San Antonio Mission and studied at Ricks College.

He married Debra V. Munk in the Idaho Falls temple and they raised four children in Ammon. They owned a television repair business in Idaho Falls. He later worked for 30 years as a technician at Ricks College and BYU-Idaho. After retirement, he and Deb completed a service mission in Idaho Falls.

David was active in scouting throughout his life, earning the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth and the Silver Beaver award after many decades of leadership and service. He enjoyed working with his hands and could fix just about anything. David was always quick with a joke or a story. He enjoyed spending time around a campfire, studying the gospel, and being with his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife, Debra; his siblings, Deborah (Gregory) Maynard, Judy (Edward) Scott, Jan (Rolly) Zollinger, and Eric (Mary Kay) Pfost; and his children, Adam (Eric) Pfost, Kelly Pfost, Steven (Katrina) Pfost, and Lisa (Daniel) Argyle. He is also survived by six grandchildren that were the delight of his life.

The family wishes to thank their friends and family for their love and support and the medical team at Community Hospital for their care.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 602 Sundance Drive in Rigby, Idaho. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:30 p.m.

Inurnment will take place at a later date in Lovelock, Nevada.
