David Francis Sievers

David Francis Sievers, age 57, of Rigby, died Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. David was born May 16, 1945, at Idaho Falls, Idaho a son of Francis Sievers and Vivian Walker Sievers. He attended Ucon Elementary, Bonneville High School, 2 years at Ricks College and Weber State University in Utah. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Germany. He worked as a carpenter in the Rigby area for many years, as a Kerby vacuum salesman, as a bar manager, managed the Rum Runner in Rigby for a short time, and just prior to his death he was part owner and operator of the Cozy Club in Rigby. He played semi pro baseball in Idaho Falls, was an avid pool player, camper, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing card games and wood crafting. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #576. Survivors include his wife Margaret (Maggie) Sievers of Rigby, Idaho, three daughters Michelle (Jeff) Andrews of Pocatello, Idaho, Amy Singleton of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Kasey Sievers of Idaho Falls, Idaho. A son James “Zeke” Sievers of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Two sisters, Barbara Mattos of Seattle, Washington and Lois Andrew of Rigby, Idaho. A step sister Joy (Tommy) Thompson Idaho Falls, Idaho and nine grandchildren. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, October 19, 2002, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
