David Scott Southam, 47, of Rigby, died Thursday, January 5, 2006 at his home from complications of Cancer. David was born October 30, 1958, in Kenai, Alaska a son of Robert DeRay Southam and Betty Ann Schaefer Southam. He attended schools in Fresno, California, Osgood and Rigby. He played Little League Baseball in Rigby. He married Paula Colleen Antry, July 28, 1989 in Rigby. He worked with Hicks and Adams and Beco Construction in Road Utilities Construction and then owned his own construction company for the past two years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, collecting antiques, landscaping his yard, entertaining and being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Paula of Rigby, three sons: Corbin David Southam, Dylan DeRay Southam and Tristan Paul Southam all of Rigby, three sisters: Debra Ann Southam of Seattle, Washington, Sharon Marie Southam of Spanish Fork, Utah, Shauna Lee (Denis) Paul of Rigby, three brothers: Robert Brent Southam of Menan, Keith Glen Southam of Rigby and Michael Thor Southam of Ririe. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday January 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Sunday January 8th from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
