David Wells Rosen, 48 of North Pole, Alaska passed away March 20, 2013 at his home in North Pole. He was born October 15, 1964 in Seattle, Washington and was the second adopted son of Marion J. and Shirley Barney Rosen. David was raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho and attended Falls Valley Elementary and Bonneville High School. He attended the Vo-Tech at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho where he learned Auto Upholstery and Restoration. He married Brandee Ella Bott December 2, 1983 and they had two children, Melissa Loye and Jessica Lyn. They later divorced. He married Candice Marie Johnson on May 22, 1998 and they were divorced. Even though his age says different, David remained young at heart and enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews, teasing his brother and sister and especially his MOMMA! He made friends wherever he was and they learned that he was a very warm, giving, and fun loving person. David was the owner and manager of Diamond Auto Body of Idaho Falls. He moved to Alaska in June of 2007 where he was employed as an independent contractor by Carlisle Trucking as an “Ice Road Trucker” where you would occasionally see his truck on the History Channels television program of the same name. David also had a shop of his own where he was continually working, restoring, and returning to new those projects that had great potential. He loved working on vehicles and was always fixing up his many pickups. In his shop he had a “wall of clocks” as a tribute to his father whom he missed very much and spoke of often. He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Rosen of Burley, Idaho, and Jessica (Andy) Uhl of Burley, Idaho, six grandchildren, Shaylee, Dax, Jeremy, Seth, Myles, and Gabrail, mother, Shirley Rosen, of Smithfield, Utah, brother Larry (Lana) Rosen, of Cove, UT, and sister Sandra (Blake) Modersitzki of Highland, UT. He was preceded in death by his father Marion J Rosen and grandparents. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Kearney 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 1860 E. Kearney in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at Lewisville Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his father.
