De Mar Hall Andersen, 71, of Rigby died at his home on Saturday, April 02, 2005.
De Mar was born August 4, 1933 in Annis, Idaho a son of Seren David Andersen and Artemissia Hall Andersen. He attended schools in Annis and Midway. He joined the Navy on May 22, 1951 he served in the Korean War. He received his separation from the Navy on May 28, 1954. He was a member of the V.F.W. De Mar married La Reta Decker on May 25, 1956 in Parowan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 21, 1999. He worked for the State Highway Department for 35 years as a chief surveyor and drove cars for Hertz Rental Cars. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had served as cub master and was currently a home teacher and High Priest. De Mar loved to fish, hunt, woodwork, yard work, and his children and grandchildren.
De Mar is survived by his wife La Reta Andersen of Rigby, 2 daughters, Gaye Lynn (Darrell “Doc”) Law of Rigby, Marla Jo (Ed) Hurst of Rigby, 2 sons, Jeff (Nancy) Andersen of Annis, La Mar (Cristine ) Andersen of Rigby, one sister Wilma Boltz of Idaho Falls, Idaho. 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
De Mar is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Hugh and David Andersen and one great grandson Keenan Andersen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the Rigby 4th Ward Chapel with Bishop Rex Miller conducting. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel and prior to the services at the church from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow the services at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Military rite performed by Jefferson Veterans Team.
