DeeAnn Moore Arave, 76, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away on April 22, 2026, at her home, with her loving husband by her side, following a courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome.
DeeAnn was born on October 8, 1949, to Forrest Moore and Joanne Parker Moore. She was raised in Pocatello, Idaho, where she attended Pocatello High School and ISU Vocational School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Lennis Arave, and they were married on August 31, 1968. After completing school, Lennis and DeeAnn lived in Pocatello, Idaho, where DeeAnn began her career at the Idaho National Laboratory as an administrative assistant. The couple later moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they welcomed their son, Cody, in 1970. In 1972, they purchased acreage in the Milo/Shelton area and made their lifelong home there. That same year, they welcomed their daughter, Wendy.
DeeAnn took a break from her professional career after the birth of her children, returning to work in 1977 with the Ririe School District as an aide and later as the administrative assistant at the grade school, where she met her dear and lifelong friend, Deon. She later worked for the Rigby School District, where she remained until her retirement.
DeeAnn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed embroidery and creating beautiful quilts and dish towels for each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was truly everything to her. She loved deeply and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren-especially spoiling them.
DeeAnn is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lennis Arave; her son, Cody (Krista) Arave of Rigby; her daughter, Wendy (Robbie) Lees of Rigby; her brother, Gary (Becky) Moore of Pocatello; four grandchildren, Justin(Kayla), Arilee (Keegan), Ashlee (Cory), and Britnee; and three great-grandchildren, Jensen, Indee, and Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Joanne Parker Moore, and her parents-in-law, Lyal and Bernice Oliver Arave.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
DeeAnn's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses at the Infusion Center at Idaho Cancer Center at EIRM for their exceptional care over the past few years, and to Britney at Aspen Home Health and Hospice for making her final days as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
