DelRay was born August 12, 1931 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Carl Theophilus Holm and Zula Wilcox Holm. He attended Roberts Elementary and Roberts High School. He joined the National Guard in 1946, served in the Army during the Korean War, and reached the rank of Sargent 1st class.
He married Shirlee Ann drake on June 23, 1950. To this union were born six children: Lee Ann, Doug, Tom, Jim, Otto, and Jennifer.
In 1954 he served a mission for the LDS Church in the North Central States mission, which covered Chicago to St. Louis. He enjoyed being a tour guide at the Carthage Jail. His wife joined him at the end of his mission. He served as a Bishop for the LDS Church during the Teton Dam flood. He loved serving and taking part in his community. He served on the Idaho State Parole Board for 20 years. He served as the National Potato Director for the NFO from 1967-1980. He enjoyed traveling with friends and family and took yearly trips to Guatemala and Belize. He loved road trips and took many across the country.
DelRay is survived by his wife Shirlee Holm, sons Douglas (Mary Jo) Holm of Roberts, Otto (Glenna) Holm of Roberts, Thomas (Toni) Holm of Idaho Falls, James (Liz) Holm of Ammon, daughter; Jennifer (Byron) Wood of Roberts, sisters; Nelda (Richard) Adams of Idaho Falls, Veneta (Gus, deceased) Gustaveson of Idhao Falls, Rhonda Lou (Richard) Groberg of Idaho Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Carl “Bud” Holm, sister Marna Adams, brother Claren Holm, daughter Lee Ann Holm, grandsons; Danny Clark, Eddie Diamond, Gentry Wood, and Casey Holm.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017, 11:00 am at the Roberts LDS Church, 663 North 2858 East Roberts Idaho. The family will visit with friends at the Roberts LDS Church, Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday prior to service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Roberts Cemetery.
