Dennis Ray Hansen, 68 of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Briarwood Assisted Living in Rexburg; he was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Dennis was born February 12, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Allen Pheral Hansen and Maurine Jensen Hansen. He was raised and attended schools in Salt Lake City. He continued his education at The University of Utah. On March 18, 1989 he married Lois Hammon in the Idaho Falls Temple. They made their home in Rexburg, Idaho and were blessed with 3 sons; Ryan Ray, Chase Lee and Allen Joseph “A.J.” Hansen.
Dennis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full-time mission in Quebec, Canada. He loved the outdoors; fishing, camping, and water skiing. Even his occupation as a Journeyman Meterman allotted him the joy of working outdoors. Dennis also enjoyed woodworking.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Lois Hansen of Rexburg, Idaho; sons, Ryan Ray (Beth) Hansen of Rexburg, Idaho, Chase Lee (Sabrina) Hansen of Menan, Idaho, Allen Joseph “A.J.” Hansen of Spokane, Washington; 2 grandchildren, Hudson and Aliyah; sisters, Kathy (Clyde) Marshall of Taylorsville, Utah, Barbara (Bruce) Gifford of Taylorsville, Utah, JoAnn (Kyle) Stauffer of Magna, Utah; brothers, David (Connie) Hansen of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Richard (Wendy) Hansen of West Valley, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the Park Street Meetinghouse, (700 Park Street, Rexburg, Idaho 83440) with the West Main Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
