Dennis Lavoy Jensen

January 30, 1941 — September 18, 2005

Dennis LaVoy Jensen, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 at EIRMC After a valiant fight with Multiple Myloma. Dennis was born in Ashton, Idaho, January 30, 1941 to Burgess Kidd and Donna Humphrey. He was raised in Rigby, Idaho and adopted by Arden James Jensen. He graduated from Rigby High School. He joined the National Guard his senior year of high School and completed 12 years. He was a mess sergeant (E-7) with the A Co. 116th Engineers out of Rigby when he was honorably discharged. Dennis filled an LDS Mission in Western Canada, and attended Ricks College. He later graduated from Ricks in 1979. He married NoraDee Heilesen, October 25, 1975 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Dennis worked from 1967 to 1996 for Utah Power and Light. He was dispatch foreman at the Goshen Substation when he retired. Dennis enjoyed fly-fishing on the South Fork of the Snake River, hunting, and dirt bike riding in the mountains. He was active in his church and served as ward clerk, stake clerk, and high councilman of Firth Stake. He is survived by his wife, NoraDee, two children, Denise Michelle Jensen of Bozeman, and Allen Ole Jensen of Firth. He has two sisters Charleen Walker (Dave) of Utah and Chris Conley of Rigby and a brother Frank H. Jensen (Marianne) of California. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 21, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in the Firth Ward Building (744 North 600 East) with Bishop Dick Moulton conducting. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main Street, Rigby) and on Wednesday, September 21st for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
