Derek Albert Robert Webb age 81 of Menan passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Madison Memorial Hospital. He was born December 20, 1925 in Norwich, Norfolk, England to George Robert Webb and Ellie May Betts Webb. In his youth he attended a small country school near Norwich. Having completed his primary schooling, he joined the Royal Air Force. He served as a rear gunner, manned Barage Balloons, served during the India Independence for four years in India, then four more years in Iraq guarding the ancient silk routes. His last assignment was to organize and setup the operations room for a new organization called NATO. He married Teresa Jarrett and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he formed an accounting business. He subsequently managed a printing company. While in Wisconsin Derek became involved in the Civil Air Patrol where he lead a squadron of teenage cadets. He later led the entire Wisconsin Wing Cadet Program. In 1982 he moved to Hawaii. He married Marilyn McCoy Evans February 14, 1984 in Kalaoa Kona Hawaii. Their marriage was solemnized in the Hawaii L.D.S. Temple. As a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served as executive secretary under three bishops and officiated in the Chicago, Hawaii and Idaho Falls Temple. He served a two year mission to the Employment Resource Service in Honolulu, Hawaii and a two and a half year mission in the Idaho Falls office. Derek loved the life in the Royal Air Force and while in Menan hanai-ed the family of Mike and Nichol Eames and their six children. He is survived by His wife, Marilyn McCoy Webb of Menan, Idaho, four daughters, Linda Susan Webb of Plainfield, Illionis, Namoi Mailemarie McCoy of Seattle, Washington, Ruth Ann Beauchan, of Union City, California, Nichole T. Eames (Mike) of Menan, and four sons Roy Derek Webb of Port Washington, Wisconsin, Enoch Kuaikahi Evans (Kim) of Gardena, California, Aaron Woodrow Evans (Kim) of Holualoa, Kona, Hawaii and Ephriam Warren Evans (Minori) of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth and James. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Menan 1st Ward Church, 3547 E. Menan Lorenzo Hwy, with Bishop Gregory Venema, Officiating. The family will meet with friends Wednesday, April 18, 2007 from 7 – 8:30 p.m at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and prior to the service on Thursday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Military Rites will be preformed by the Jefferson Veterans Team.
