DeVar Lewis, age 76, of Victor, passed away, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Monday, October 31, 2016. DeVar was born in Coleville, Utah March 4th 1940 a son to William W. Lewis and Clarissa Ardella Clawson Lewis. He attended Driggs schools and Teton High School. He also attended mechanic classes at Idaho Vocational Technical School. He married Karson Margo Schiers in Victor, Idaho June 14th 1963. He worked for Tonks Brothers Garage in Victor, as a heavy equipment and mechanic for numerous companies and retired in 2014 from Matkins Brothers Construction. DeVar enjoyed horses especially trail rides, ice fishing, building snow planes and his family. He and his wife Margo spent the last 13 winters in Overton, Nevada four wheeling and enjoying the sunshine. Survivors include his wife Margo Lewis of Victor, a daughter Latrica Williams ( Samuel Jr.) of Monteview, Idaho, a sister Laura Lyn Stratton of Clearfield, Utah, two brothers Rodney Lewis (Dorothy) of Rigby and Sheldon Lewis (Carol) of Rocky Ridge, Utah, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two children Linda Rae Burns and Daniel DeVar Lewis. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 5th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Victor LDS Church with Bishop Val Kunz officiating. The family will visit with friends at the Victor LDS Church on Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. just prior to services. Burial will be in the Victor Cemetery under direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
